I have recently become a big fan of BTS (I know, I’m a few years late). I have been watching a lot of their videos including their cooking competitions. In a recent video, they made a spicy pork dish, which in turn inspired me to make this recipe for you!
A lot of people are used to adding oil to the wok when making a stir fry, but you don’t need any extra oil for this dish. I repeat, DO NOT ADD OIL. Pork belly is naturally very fatty, so there will be plenty of extra fat to keep the pork belly from sticking to the wok.
Gochujang is a kitchen staple in my house. It’s not just adding spice, but it adds a whole extra level of complexity of flavor to dishes. Gochujang is spicy, salty, and sweet. You can use it in soups, stir frys, sauces, and so much more!

Spicy Pork Belly Wrap
Ingredients
Sauce
- 1 tbsp gochujang
- 1 tbsp gochugaru
- 2 tbsp tamari
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 3 cloves garlic minced
1 lb pork belly, sliced
4 green onions, chopped into ~1 inch long pieces
½ onion, sliced
½ head butter lettuce
Instructions
-
Combine all sauce ingredients together in a bowl and set aside.
-
Heat up wok over medium heat, then add pork belly. Cook pork belly until it’s white, about 5 minutes. (Depending on how fatty your pork is, you may want to pour out some of the excess fat before you add the other ingredients.)
-
Add onion and green onions to the wok and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
-
Lastly, add the sauce to the wok and toss until the pork belly mixture is well coated. Let cook for another 2 minutes.
-
Remove the wok from heat and serve pork belly with the butter lettuce leaves.
