Chef K asked me where I got the idea to make this dish, the truth is I was inspired by BTS. Specifically their member Suga. Yes, that’s right the Korean boy band BTS. Everytime they go on a trip and need to cook their own food, they always request gambas to be made at least once by Suga.
The show always pans to the group peeling a crazy amount of garlic to make enough gambas for 7 people, but they do it willingly because they love this dish so much.
Again, these are international pop stars, and if they can make this dish, so can I! After doing some research, I realized this dish is so simple to make but it tastes like it came from a fancy restaurant.
The highlight of this dish to me is the sauce. The olive oil becomes infused with the flavor of the garlic and shrimp that makes it so delicious you’ll want to slurp it up. However, I recommend toasting some bread to go with your dish. You can eat the bread with the shrimp, but you can also use it to soak up the sauce as well!
