Day at the Grill Part 1. Here we are with a brand new series of foods. We have started to like doing food series quite a bit. Not only because it lets us focus on each part more carefully, but more so because they make full meals for us!
This time it’s a 3 part series, all involving a grill. We enjoy the grilling life because grills cook fast and provide such a nice smokey flavor. Needless to say, we won’t be eating the grill, so we will be putting food over the flames to transfer those smoky sensations.
The first thing to be thrown onto the hot iron grate is some juicy romaine. Yes, juicy.
When preparing the heads of romaine, just make one long cut down the middle of the head. I originally pulled apart the leaves because I wanted to make a normal salad. However, after I took it all apart, I was only left with regret. Leave the leaves!Brush the dressing mixture politely across the inner cut of the romaine head, this will be the side that is face down on the grill. Leave it just long enough for the ends to get slightly crispy, don’t ruin the greenery!
When it’s all done, it can be served multiple ways, we decided to shove it back together into a dish to make it present nicely. Don’t let the vinaigrette go to waste, be sure to drizzle some on your lettuce. Pretty apple slice fans and pecans are only a recommendation, but feel free to use any fruit or nut that you want!
