I’m hooked on my air fryer that I got for Christmas, so apologies for all the air fryer recipes that I’m posting these days. A lot of my air fryer recipes can also be baked in a convection oven, however it may take more time.
Last year I went out to a fusion tapas bar in Seattle for a friend’s birthday. We got these blistered shishitos and they were delicious! The whole table loved them so much, we had to order a second round.
The shishito peppers have so much flavor on their own, the seasoning can be kept very simple. We used avocado oil because it’s a neutral oil and can withstand cooking at high heats. We topped these with flaky salt, but if you can use any other kind of salt if needed. Just make sure to taste as you season because different salts have different levels of saltiness.
Keep your salt on your peppers, not the floor,

Add peppers to the air fryer basket, you may need to do this in a few batches. Air fry for 3 minutes, then shake the basket. Replace basket and air fry for another 3 minutes.

Pour finished peppers into a bowl lined with a paper towel to soak up any excess oil. Season liberally with flaky salt before serving.
