Growing up I did not eat much fast food. However, sometimes there would be a special occasion, and we would go out to Arby’s. Not sure why Arby’s was the fast food location of choice, but mini me just loved the taste and shape of curly fries. They were way more exciting than your normal french fry.
This recipe is simple enough for all ages to make, so you can make this a fun family activity in the kitchen. I especially enjoy spiralizing the potatoes. There is something so entertaining about seeing how long of a curly fry you can make.
Depending on your preference of fry texture, you may want to play around with different cook temps and times. 360 degrees F for 6 minutes gives you a cooked fry, but it won’t have much of a crisp. Since I like a slight crisp to my fries, but a soft center, I crisp mine up for an extra minute or two at a higher temp.
Be carefully though because one minute too long at 400 degrees will give you an EXTRA crispy fry. We don’t want you to end up with a charcoal-tasting curly fry!
