Bananas Foster French Toast

Ingredients

1 loaf banana bread, sliced one inch thick

Butter for pan

French Toast Batter

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • ¾ cup coconut sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Bananas Foster

  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • cup coconut cream
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 2 bananas

Instructions

  1. Whisk together all ingredients of the batter.
  2. Heat up medium sized pan over medium high heat. Melt a little butter in the pan. Dip banana bread in batter and place in pan. Flip after a couple minutes or when you see the banana bread start to carmelize. Remove from heat and set aside until your sauce is ready.
  3. While your bread is toasting, heat up ¼ cup butter in a saucepan. When butter is melted, whisk in the remaining ingredients except for bananas. Let sauce reduce down to a syrup. After your syrup reduces, toss in bananas to coat in syrup or just place bananas on top of your toast and drizzle with the syrup. Drizzle syrup over toast and serve immediately!
